my last bike i paid well over a hundred bucks for my fender tips(lower front and rear). being an old custom car guy, i decided on my intruder lc that i'd make something for a lot less money. remembering(sometimes that's hard to do)of some stuff i'd used on a car once gave me this idea, and i think it looks great and i did top and lower front fender and lower rear fender for under $20 bucks. i get this at an auto paint store here in kansas city, but any place that cares 3-products should be able to get it for you. it's chrome prostripe molding. i use the 1/2" which is part number M812005. that's for a 20' length, which is more than enough to do both fenders. it can be bent to any contour(if it's a sharp curve, you may want to heat it with a hair dryer). it has a self adhesive back that sticks like crazy. i formed it around the fender and then take a razor to cut off the excess. i used four rows on my lc(it has big fenders), and it gives the look of a rolled tip, sort of a retro look that i think is really sharp on the lc. if it ever gets scratched or anything, just heat it, take that piece off, and replace with a new one. i don't have a digital camera, or i'd try to post pics. have a friend who has one, maybe i can get some over the weekend. later, bud |
