Default If Only!

I'm afraid the S50 does not have self adjusting valves and to adjust the valves not only does the seat and tank have to be removed but also one of the carburetors. Even at that I could not see how to get to the valve covers easily and I gave up. Through my research my best guess is that they do not need adjusting until somewhere around 4000 miles, unless you can hear clicking noises and or the bike is not running correctly. My stealership charges $150 to check the valves and another 100 to actually do the adjusting.

I was very worried about the valves and it has taken many postings and much research for me to stop worrying and just ride the thing until the 4000 mile mark and then take it in. I do not like not being able to do my own work, but sometimes you have no choice. My S50 is running strong and quiet so my only problem is the inevitable rain that will begin very soon here in Oregon!
