Hi all! I just thought I would introduce myself in the Classics section as I will probably spend most of my time here.

II have been riding since 1971 (14 years old), my first bike was a 1972 Yamaha CT-2 (175 Enduro) Candy Red, and the first year with "Torque Induction" (reed valves).

I have also owned/raced a 1974 Penton 175 JackPiner

and a 1975 Maico 440 The one on the right(raced both in the 70's).

I wish I still had it. I loved that bike

The only Street bike I have owned was a 1981 Yamaha 750 Virago. I bought it used in 1984 and road it for 10 years and sold it when I had my first child. It was a nice bike and with an aftermarket exhaust sounded pretty good. My biggest complaints were the shaft lash when backing off the throttle and the starter was NOISY. like I had a hand full of marbles in it.

I haven't ridden since about 1995, and with gas prices going nuts I though I'd get a little bike to commute. I came across a pretty good deal last October in my old home town in Michigan. A 1973 Honda CL350. Well, I just brought home (to New York) and I am starting the restoration. It is in pretty decent shape and has 25k on it and is mechanically sound (runs great). Most of the work is cosmetic (needs paint badly on the tank and side covers) as well as polishing the engine, hubs and rims. It needs a new exhaust, battery and front tire for starters. I have the exhaust, I picked up a pretty decent one on eBay for $28.00. I would like to have it re-chromed if possible I may be asking for some advice from the forum in the coming months on where I might get that done.

I look forward to getting good advice from you all and making some new friends
