Im trying to make my 82 suzuki gs550 into a rigid frame for a bobber. has anyone done it and if so, how? Im trying to get some ideas. I removed the springs from the stock rear shocks and bottomed them out and it is the perfect height for what Im looking for, but there is about a half an inch of clearance between the tire and fender so there cant be any suspension. I would rather not cut up the frame too badly, but I dont want to just stick a piece of straight stock in between the swingarm and fender struts. If I could maybe find a good looking, clean way of attaching the swingarm to the frame I think I would be happy with that. any ideas would be appreciated.
