Default gt 750 water buffalo

Well, I guess, I am in the GT750 business. My buddy ran across a couple of these bikes that a guy had as a project and never finished. He gave them to us to haul off. We stripped them and sold the parts on ebay. I got an email from someone who had a friend with a whole barn full of GT750's and a bunch of parts. he used to build drag bikes out of the GT750's.

Anyway long story short. We bought everything he had. 7 to 8 complete to nearly complete bikes. plus tons of parts. We are going to pick up the load today. It will take 2 trucks and 2 trailers to get it all.

he also has a drag bike ready to race, i think we are going to buy it too.

i wonder what i got myself into. Should be fun....

Wow.

Sounds like lots of parts and lots of fun!
But did you have a place to store 2 truck full of parts?
That must be loads! (literally)

Hope you have a great exciting time with that. I've never ridden a water buffalo before, but I've seen one. Huge and heavy bike!!

Man, what a deal. Took us 5 hours to load everything. Just before we finished loading everything a blizzard hit us. It was normally a 2 hours drive, it took us almost 4 hours due to road conditions. But we made it home safely. That was Saturday. Today (sunday) we sent all day unloading a sorting parts. most of the bikes are there but are very rough. Our plan is to restore 2 bikes and sell off everything else. He even had a bunch of Ocelot engine cylinders and piston.

but i am tired, worked our tail off today and the drive yesterday was the most stressful i have had in many years.

Oh, and we bought his drag racer too... you should hear that thing.. WOW..
Dont have a clue what we are going to do with it. but i have got to ride it at least once

i will get some pics up soon.

These bikes did not sell well when they were new, but have a decent cult following today. You need to hook up with the various owner's clubs in various countries on the internet. Do a Google search for "waterbottle" and "Kettle Club of England", as the bike had different nicknames around the world. You probably will find a decent niche market for your barn full of parts, and will make some folks very, very happy. Spares are particularly hard to find in the UK, so you will probably get good response from there.
I stumbled on to an absolutely beautiful one last year, in near perfect mechanical and cosmetic condition, for $1000. I grabbed it and sold it a week later for $1600 after riding it a couple times. It was just as I remembered- that two-stroke exhaust note, and a nice smooth ride on the highway. I thought about keeping it, but I knew I'd rarely ride it, and a buddy had one I can have for free if I want another restoration project, so I went ahead and sold it.

It must be newer than a '73 because the handle bars don't look anything like mine!

LOL. You don't want to deal with speed wobbles or head shake on that beast. Nothing like being highsided, then gored by your ride.

WOW! That drag bike looks SWEET! You are right, there is just to much to make a list, I'm looking for a good deal on a handle bar and a front fender. The front fender that I would like to have is from a '77, it does not have the braces. Whats your user name on ebay?

Ebay handle is mustangbilbo.... It may be changing soon, we may have to go all legal and stuff for tax reasons . But for now that is what we are using. I dont have anything listed tonight, but i will have some stuff listed tomorrow night. As far as handle bars that is no problem I think we have some already to go. Front fender may be a problem, I will just have to look. The earliest bike we see is a 75 most are 72's.

Here is our problem what you see on the trailer is just a fraction of what we have. We have a rack about 20' long 9' tall 4 shelves full of parts. We plan on restoring 2 bikes a 72 and the 75. So my partner is trying to select our parts for those bikes. It nice just to walk over to the shelf and pull a part.

We have so many exhaust pipes it is unreal. Just have to sort thru them. I will look for the fender tomorrow, All the stuff is at my partners place. we have a nice relationship, he likes to tinker and mechanic and hate the computer.. So i do the listing and shipping.
