Good video!!!

Although, I think you should have talked about how to get an endorsement in most states: take a class (emphasizing this option) or road test, then take the written test, and then, bada bing bada boom, you are legal to ride that motorcycle on the road.

Hmm, here in NC, you take the written test first. Pass that and you get your permit. Pass the road test, or take the MSF class and the road test is waived, and you get your endorsement. Main difference is no passenger with a permit.

up here it's
take written. it's good for no less than 30 days and no more than 90 days... (M1 license)
in that time you have to take a road test or the equilavent MSF... (M2 license)
then not less than 20 months (18 if you took a course) and no more than 5 years, you need to take the 2nd road test (or approved course) to get the full M license...

restrictions:
M1
no big highways
no alcohol
no passenger
no riding after sunset or before sunrise

M2
No alcohol

full M
unrestricted

Full M - unrestricted.
So alcohol is allowed? What?!

why even put that in there? Everyone is always touting the stats when alcohol is involved and yet they bother to make a class of motorcycle endorsement that almost condones it!

That's messed up!

yup. up to the legal limit... 0.08 blood alcohol level, just like all other vehicles
personally i'd like to see that limit lowered to at least 0.05

Hey Capt. Every one of your videos helped me alot. I went from a new guy afraid to turn right to wearing the asphalt i the school lot out. My test was a breeze. Thanks man.

In Michigan, you take the written t get your temp permit. Then you have 180 days to gt your endorsement. During that time, no riders, no night time riding and you have to ride in view of a licensed motorcycle rider.

THen you take your road test and bam.....licensed. If you take a MSF course, then the whole thing except the temp permit is rolled in. (no separate road test).

Around me, those things are booked til late Sep. But Im on the list and taking it even though I already have the endorsment.

You don't have to get the temp permit. If you go the temp permit route, you end up spending a little more money at the DMV, I believe. I just took my written test, showed them my MSF completion certificate, and received my full "CY" endorsement.

Be careful out there.
I know of a couple people who wrecked, while waiting to take the course. One of them has been riding for a couple seasons, and didn't know how to emergency stop.
