| The ride is better loaded up, 1,000 Lbs., maxed out, 2-up plus gear. Not as nimble as unloaded, but carrying a passinger your not driving agressive anyway, very stable. We were very comfortable driving in the rain, just take it easy, go with the traffic flow. I maintained regular speed 65 indicated in the main roads. and 80 indicated on the expressway. The first 2 hrs. were a combination of 2 lane with a few small towns but mostly 4 lane, then stopped for fuel @ 125 miles, and put rain pants on. We did no expressway riding in the rain. There is plastic liners (bags) included with the saddlebags, but we chose not to use them. After the 2nd. day the bottom of the saddlebags were damp, from road spray. Next time if we know there will be extended weather, we will use them. Otherwise a brief shower there not needed. For an extended review go to http://burgmanusa.com/ipw-web/bullet...pic.php?t=1679 |

| Forensic Bug Splatter Analyst. ![]() | Nice write up , at both sites. Glad to see folks getting out on long rides on the Burg. Out of the norm. I see a few as commuters in LA traffic, but never any other time. I take my 1k on long tours and folks think I'm nuts. But the body position actual relaxes some back problems I have. PS, you can keep the rain!

| Thanks, but it's not as long as some have gone, One guy went 2,000 miles in 3 days, One went cross country 5,300 miles in 10 days, one went from Omaha to the Black Hills and back, 500 miles one way. A few more miles than me . A lot of Burgman riders go for 1,000 mile plus trips. It does make a good touring machine. If interisted here is a link to a few more stories. http://burgmanusa.com/ipw-web/bullet...a5ef64b17b2630 |
