| anyone have one? any likes/dislikes? i am thinking of buying one, and i would like some input on what is good and what is -not- good about these bikes. i am looking for honest opinions from owners, not from the dealer sales-girl telling me that everything is perfect....just to sell the bike. can you fellow posters give me any insight? |

| I've got a 2005 Cityx and I think it is a great bike. I actually have it for sale/ trade right now but not because I want to, I would rather keep it since I believe it is the best bike I have ever owned. Good: *Very easy to maintain/ work on, almost no maintenance, great gas mileage, handles wonderful, suprisingly does very well on the dirt, looks great, comfortable done several 500+ mile trips on it with the Streetfighter seat, much smoother running and accelerating than the 1200, very useable power and easy to ride, a very street oriented powerplant, etc.... Bad: *The suralyn airbox cover is a pain in the A*# because if you spill gas on it, it clouds up and you have to polish it. It does come clean thought. *Doesn't have as much torque as a 1200 but not far off. My bike makes 90.89hp and 71.1 fpt in it's current status. *Honestly, not much bad about it. This is just what comes to the top of my head, I'd be glad to talk more about it with you. I am unfortunatley in the prediciment of needing some cash for college so I have mine up for sale, or will trade for a cruiser and some cash. | I've got a Firebolt (XB9R) and I plan to buy another Buell for my next bike, will be my 3rd Buell. Quite low maintainance, very reliable and handles like a dream. The airbox (all bodywork) does take some care to keep it looking good, but I've learned a few tricks along the way to keeing it shiny, or restoring the shine if you let it go too far.

| Ulysses owner here. All is rosy with mine. It suits my tastes and riding style to a tee.

| sorry for delay in reply. my computer went down....had to call the DR. he gave it some viagra and now it is ^up again^. (sorry for the pun folks) florida is too far for me, sorry man. i found a couple new in pittsburgh, gonna go see them when the snow quits falling up here. thank you everyone for your replies. |

| Intim; i went to big bike show out in ohio. (cycle world sponsor, 17 or 19 manufacturers, 600 bikes there) was checking out the city9x, when a factory rep came up..... i asked him where the motor was made he said milwaukee, i asked him if it was really wauwatosa, wisconsin. his eyes lit up, and he said yes. i related to him that i took the tour in september('0 he said he was from engineering, which was out back from the harley plant you see from the street. he said he gets to ride all the bikes, i told him i wanted his job....he laughed. apparently someone has to die[God Bless Them] or get hooked on crack and miss alot of work to make a vacancy at a Harley/Buell manufacturing facility. from what i understand, there may be a new opportunity to view another of Harley's operations coming in the future.....Tomahawk, Wisconsin, where they make the fiberglas components for their M/C's. this doesn't correspond with anyhting you posted, other than your story of harley owners recognizing your buell. here you go, guys who work for Harley-Davidson, are down to earth cool guys. |

| I went to the local Buell open house and had a chance to try all of them on a 20mi ride each. Not long enough of a ride to judge a bike but long enough to notice certain immediate difference among all of them... I am at a stage in my life where comfort, usability and practicality does far out weights the looks and the hype factors. From riding all the Buell models back to back for about 20mi each, I can tell you the best Buell model I found is the Ulysses. It is the most comfortable, smooth engine, smooth ride and amazing very minimal heat from the rear jog. If you are not a tall rider, most Buells will be an issue to you because they are really tall horses. If you like a comfortable seat, you will be very dissapointed at must Buell seats just as any other sport bike, not comfy at all... If you having given a lot of though about what it is to have hot metal between your legs, then you better give Buells a second thought because they do get hot, the seat is hot, the air underneath your leg is hot and the portion of the frame that touches your inter upper thighs will be hot too, not a very cool environment down there at all, very painful actually... One of the most uncomfortable Buells that I found was the Blast, I am not a very tall person and was extremely over crowded on that bike. It seems as if my knees were gong to interfere with the handle bars, but at the same time, I keep sliding toward the tank on a slippery hard seat... Surprisingly the Blast has a very high rev engine that runs quite well. If it was not for being so un-comfortable the Blast could make it as a very agile daily commuter. I also tried the new sport looking bike, not impressed either. That new engine looses the feel of the Harley/Buell Feel. Not comfy, it also gets very hot for being a liquid cooled engine. Again, if investing on a Buell, I think your best bet will be on an Ulysses... Good Luck.

| My first bike in 25 years is an 06 City... 200 miles in and I love it. I rode a blast for the MSF class to get wheels under me again and knew I was getting one of the big brothers. The change in bike technolgy is amazing, it sure beats the old Honda CB's I grew up on. |
