I got the thousand mile service scheduled for Saturday.

Also included:

Rechecking of torque specs of vital nuts and bolts.

Check clutch adjustment.

Excessive dive in the front forks when braking.

Installation of Buell branded Traction grips.

Installation of an aftermarket exhaust. In conjunction with the ECM getting remapped.

sounds like way too much fun. I have heard that they sound amazing with an aftermarket exhaust. What are you getting?

They may as well Bob!

Apparently, the guy at my store, got stumped trying to tune the bike. So they've loaded it up and sent it to another store. :shrugs:

Wow!!!! Unfreakinbelievable!!!!! Got a shop up here that can custom tune any bike and has a Harley guy with over 35 years experience. Worst case tell them to send up to Atlanta.

it is sounding kind of ridiculous on the service side. Do they realize it is Harley engine, similar to all the rest of the engines they work on? Good luck man. Keep us posted.

I'm being fairly relaxed about the whole deal.

My only curiosity is this: I wonder why they've steered me away from the "Race ECM"??? It's only a $210 plug and play ECM that requires a $35 TPS reset after installation. I believe it fattens up the fuel curve across the board. It learns your setup and has a broader application base.

However, even the aftermarket (pipe) guys have steered me away from it....

So they are remapping my stock ECM. Apparently, having a hell of a time of it too.

I finally got a break and called over there to see what's up.

They're apparently proud of their work. It was reported that they gave the bike a sweet fuel curve, and it should run hesitation free. There were a couple of comments about the sound, but that's about it. I just have to live with generalizations for now.

I guess that'll have to do for now.

See'ins that I couldn't pick it up last night because "They're gettin' ready for that Bike Night over here tonight."

<Scratches head>

I dunno....maybe the Bar and Shield logo is like one of them there Hexes you see up in Amish country. Maybe it spins me into a trance. Because by now....normally.......I would've transformed into The Great Assholio way back on Saturday, when I was told things weren't going to go as was promised to me.
