Yes, Uncle Sam brought both of my bikes to the Islands and not a single penny spent. They get more use during the weekends though due to traffic jams during the week. I live 20 miles from work, but commutes last over an hour and I hate riding in traffic.

I thought about the demo of the Ulysses a couple of weekends ago when we sat at a Harley Dealerships for three hours waiting on a benefit ride to start. But decided I better leave before I get another hairbrain idea I need yet another bike. They had some promotion on a free shoulder letter carrier with a test ride. Might still have to go back to see how the Ulysses does compared to my Wee Strom but then again I might start kickin' myself in the arse if I do. Dangit Tim!!!!!

Tell me you didn't ride in shorts and flip-flops! Your photographer needs to find the zoom button.

well, i recently went through these feelings on an SV that I made the mistake of test riding. I have had my eyes on Buell for a while now. Maybe next chance I get to get to a dealership (about 5 hours away) i'll take the plunge too. That SV was awesome, but I'd love to have a lightning! Don't feel bad Pete, I don't think I can get both sets of toes on the ground on that thing.

Bike has been in the shop since Saturday. It puked new looking oil on the Primary side. I warmed it up per Buell specs, and pulled the oil bag dipstick. It certainly wasn't coming from there. It was too clean to be an engine oil leak. There is a bolt sticking out from the bottom of the primary, it was leaking (not weeping) from either there or the general area of two T-27 Torx bolts near it. There was quite a bit out of it. I hope no damage has been done. I gave them a laundry list of stuff to check out while I was there too. Other problems: Bought a tank mask. Went to install it. Bolt from the tank had rattled loose and made itself scarce. Adjusting the suspension: Top of the shock collar bolts that hold it to the frame had worked themselves loose. Shock was moving around. Damn....I know we joked about crap shaking off of Harleys. I joined in on the fun, but just assumed it was the stuff that Urban Legends are made of, and something we metric riders used to jab at the Harley guys about. |
