Default CityX

In reply to being vertically challenged and riding a CityX I can only say that it's worth it. I am also 5'-7" and can't sit with both feet flat on the ground with the stock seat, but after the first few rides it's no big deal. If you want to feel really short, try sitting on a Uly. Love the concept, but I'd have to wear platform shoes and people already think Buell riders are a strange crowd.

I didn't even consider the Uly an option just for that reason. And for me not being as close to flat footed as possible isn't worth it to me. I'm too inexperienced to risk it.

I was just going to add that experience can play a role in seat height too. If you have experience, don't let seat height deter you from getting a bike you want, you will regret it later. There are alot of short riders out there that kick butt on their larger/taller bikes, they just need to lean a bit to get a foot onto the ground. Balancing becomes a larger issue too.

Yeah, Rossi isn't exactly tall.

Most of my riding is too and from work, and it's very dirty in front of the motorcycle parking at my building. Don't want to go down because the one foot I could get flat lost traction.

It's funny, talking to my dad about me getting a Buell. He wanted me to get something sportier to begin with, but the one time he was on a Harley (rented a Sportster while on vacation) he hated it. So he's not sold on Buells. He's still pushing for the SV I initially wanted. It just doesn't seem different enough now...

I think too many people view the Buell as a "crotch rocket" when infact that isnt what Eric Buell designed the bike to be. If a person goes to the Buell website and actually spends the time to read the info there its clearly explained. I think anyone looking for a great handling motorcycle and not test riding a Buell is doing themselves a disservice.

Regarding the seat height. I originally wanted a City but found the seat height too high for my liking. I ended up with a XB12S and then still went with a lower seat. Best decision I ever made.

Return of the Living Thread here...While I was at the Chicago Show, I got a chance to check out the XB12Scg, which is basically a stock 12S which has been lowered and a shorty seat installed. The seat height is something like 28.5 inches which is absolutely perfect for me (5'7" with a 29" inseam)

Maybe if there's money after the House I can pull that trigger.

Hey Joe, my vertical challenged self appreciates the update concerning the "Scg".

THANKS!
