Unhappy 2005 M50 is not starting

Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum. I've been a member of another MC forum for about a year now but I found this one when I was searching for answers to my problem with my bike and it seems like a great site. I ride an 05 Suzuki M50 with about 10,000 on the clock. Its due for service at 11k. Last one was done at around 7500. I rode it out last night. Came home it was fine. Let it sit for a little while then put the cover on it before going to bed. Went out there today to take it out. Turned the key to the on position. Everything was fine. Engine switch to on position. Heard the starter make that noise. Then hit the start button and click. The next time I tried, the electronics started acting pretty funny. Turned the key to the on position and nothing came on until I hit the headlight dimmer button. After trying a few more times, nothing comes on when I turn the key to the on position! I've never worked on bikes before but I used to do a lot of work on my car. Checked the service manual and it pointed me to the starter relay and loose wiring. I checked these things out and they appear normal. Fuses seem fine. Does anyone have any ideas? It's beautiful outside and being grounded today is killing me. Thanks
