Default C50 Mufflers

I've read people going back and forth on here about debaffling. Yesterday day I just took my mufflers completly off just to see what its like. Will this hurt my bike in any way? I have a 2007 C50. I rode it across town, really no effect that I can tell to the power of the bike but man does it backfire. As long as the rpms dont get high in between gear changes its fine. Run it up and pull the clutch in and POW!! Oh and one hell of a flame will shoot out.

LOL... I doubt it is good for your valves.... they need some backpressure.

So if I debaffle them, isnt that gonna eliminate the back pressure as well?

Yes...but it is a matter of degree....and depends on how many of the baffles you remove... I think there are 3 sets... I took out two...which is commonly what is done, I believe.

On a scale of 10...remove the rearmost plate and backpressure is reduced to 8. remove the second plate and backpressure goes down to 6. Remove the last one and backpressure down to 4. remove entire muffler... backpressure down to 2.
Even with all baffles gone, you still have some backpressure from 5 feet of pipe.

Then again.. maybe I dont know what I am talking about either...
