Question New C90T - Weird Engine Noise

Hello all!

I just bought a 2008 C90T, and only have about 150 miles on it. I have noticed there is a very strange noise coming from the engine at higher gears and speeds. The best way I can describe it would be a dolphin mating call, or kind of like an air compressor noise. It's a very high pitched noise in place of where the "throaty exhaust" sound should be. I have noticed that sometimes if I shift down and remain at the same speed, the engine stops making this noise. It's definitely coming from the engine, and not the pipes.

I notice it in 4th and 5th gear, from about 50mph and up.

Is this something that will go away once the bike is "broken in", or is this normal? Something I should be worried about? Other than this, the bike is a great ride.

Thanks!
