| So I was back into the dealership today to talk to them about costs on putting a sissy bar on my '08 S50, BUT according to them no one makes one that they could find for my particular bike....they make them for the Intruder up to '04 but nothing since the change to the Boulevard S50 classification. So does anyone have one of these newer bikes '06-'08 and have put some type of sissy bar on? I'm wanting a taller one in the 16" range. PLEASE HELP!!!!

| In case you didn't get the email... SixCb, I just got one for my S50. They are listed in the Suzuki Website. Beats me why they could not find it. Are bikes are known as: VS800 / S50. I installed the sissy bar myself. The dealer will sell it for List price $190.00 something. You can get it for $50 bucks less at. BACKREST SET S50 S83 BOULEVARD :: S83 S50 - VS800 VS1400 :: Cruisers :: Oneida Suzuki Inc As for the extenstion to That sissy bar you may ask on: IntruderAlert Cafe They will know.... | I have the sissy bar from Suzuki for the S50 (06, same as 08, I paid $50 extra for mine, dealer installed as part of the deal when I bought my cycle. I like the size, wouldn't want a taller one. It also has a locking space for the tool kit. I took that fake air cleaner/tool kit off the first week after hitting my knee on it several times. I filled the holes left with black allen screws after removing the fake air cleaner, I think it looks much slimmer. Old codger

| From you post, i see that you are looking for something taller than the one Suzuki offers. If your S50 does not have the Suzuki sissybar, then pre-2004 aftermarket ones will not fit, as you do not have the correct side brackets on your bike. But You still have options. Option one is to get a Suzuki sissybar, either new or a used one off a pre-2004 Intruder 800 that is complete (I've seen them as low as $40 on ebay or craigs list). Then you can add the Jardine sissybar extender. Or you can get an aftermarket sissy bar that comes with mounting plates, like for a Harley, and just elongate the mounting holes to fit the bolts on your S50. I put on on my ex-girlfriend's Intruder, but I don;t remember if it was for a Sportster or a Dyna or a softale. Measure your bike, then wander into a Harley dealer and find a model with the same width, and order a cheap aftermarket for that model.
