Do you need to add a relay if you replace the stock C50 Horn ? (I assume the stock horn uses a relay as well ?)

Thanks.

When using the stebel, use a relay.

The relay should come with the horn. If you don't use it you take the risk of turning part of your harness into a crispy critter.

I just installed mine

I'm almost afraid to use it because it's so loud.

It has a nice lower tone.

I think it's worth it.

going down the road it is not as loud as you would think it is on the bike. It is totally bearable, not overwelming.

Default Horn Location

Where exactly is the stock horn mounted on the bike?

Can you just mount the new horn where the old one was?

Left center of jugs. Probably not too big for the cow bell. I did find that it will fit nicely into the pair valve housing. Have to remove the pair valve though.

I bought a "Bad Boy" from auto zone. Looks to be the same thing. I made a Z bracket and mounted it from the same bolt as the left side crash bar. Angled it to mastch the lines of the frame. This is on a C50. I can't post pictures as I am using a work computer.

I notice the Stebel at Advanced Autoparts and it was $49. The manager said he would match any price. He did call Bikerhiway and matched the price of $36. It didn't come with the relay so I had to work it out.

Then he didn't match the price. The one from bikerhiway comes with everything you need for their $36 price.

well it doesnt come with everything for $36.00 you still need the wiring kit and if you get that from Bikerhiway you will need to pay another $15 and change like I did and then even at that there is not enough wire for where I'm mounting mine. I still need another 3 feet from the horn to the relay placed by the battery
