I listed it on Craigslist yeaterday and by the time I got home from work I got call......

the guy asked if CA$H was ok????? WOW........

I called him this morning and told him I took the day off if he want's to stop by and start her up.........I already have a bill of sale typed up....

On another note; talked to the Sales manager at Cambridge Motorsports and he will call me when the 2008 C50T's come in.....they only have one M50 left in the shop....on sale for $6300.00 (2007)...however!!!

I did see a 2007 Yamaha 1100cc Silverado on sale for $8,000.00......nice bike....got me thinking????

dan

WHAT GIVES??? craigslist omitted my best picture!!!!!

it's underpriced so he sold it too quickly.

As opposed to having to deal with 20 people, diddle around most of the summer and finally getting another 3 bills.

Then it will be remembered as "the summer it took to sell the stinkin' bike" more than anything else.

At a certain point you have to calculate an aggravation factor.

Which reminds me, is it worth it to put another engine in my 1984 Honda Magna?

why doesn't this surprise me any?

It's about the way it works, any given guy would like to buy this bike, but they all have the same problem; just a few bucks short because the rent/the utilities/ the insurance had to get paid that week.

that, and most banks won't loan for bikes 10 years old or older; not saying it can't be done.

So, OmegaJim, your saying it may be easier for a person to buy a new(er) bike and have it financed??

If I don't sell it outright, I'll take a beeting at the stealers....

This bike has been garaged kept.....I added this pic because it doesn't show up on Craigslist??

Anyway...it's a decent reliable running machine.....A good deal for the price and condition....

I'm just saying that it's a starter bike and as such, you are selling to the 1st bike crowd.

Yea, I know. It's your BABY....but that really has little bearing on the value.

Why is it that you are selling?

I think your price is too high......if you want to sell it any time soon.

KBB shows retail= $2110 and trade-in= $1410. May be slightly different in your area. If I were shopping for one, I would expect to pay something like $1750 from a private seller.

Good luck!

A LOT of people would not consider a 750 to be a "starter" bike.

I stand corrected; the 2nd bike crowd.

As for price, it's somewhat subjective. The bike looks like it's in pretty good condition; I doubt that KBB is taking into account bikes that approach "showroom condition."

Indeed. I don't think the price he is asking is "wrong" but since it is above the "standard" (at least the one I checked), it is not likely to be a quick and easy sale. Possible but not likely.

It all depends on when the snow melts, and it gets sunny and warm.

Which reminds me, I saw a numbskull trying to sell a bike here last October, talk about your bad timing.

SOLD!!!! to my boss here at work!!!

He bought it without even seeing it, or sitting on it....I have a reputation of taking care of my stuff........Instead of hauling to work in my truck (52 miles), I told him I'll deliver it to his house (58 miles) this Saturday....

A good deal, good price for a good bike!!

You gave him an appropriate discount, right??

Good luck with that. Selling used vehicles (or loaning money) to close friends or relatives sometimes doesn't turn out good.

are you kidding? It's a honda, the boss will love it, and after 3 - 4 years, he'll need to get a Harley.

There is nothing wrong with this bike, but it's a standard; as such, it is the last of it's kind and there's a reason for it. Test drove a couple of these, and they were competent, solid, and boring as all get out.

in other words the antithesis of every English sportbike made in the UK. Except for the last couple years.

I think the price is reasonable. I have all receipts from the accessories added . I'm even throwing in the rear carrier sissy bar bag.

I figure, from what I paid and what I put in it, I'm making about $50 profit.

I know what KBB says about it's worth, the fact it, this Inline 750 cc engine has been in production for over 30 years, I'm sure Japan has it right. It's probably the most maintenance free motorcyle ever built.....Change the oil, keep the sealed chain lubed and off you go....There is a small dedicated of group of people for these bikes, some with close to 100,000 miles on it.

I'm selling (sold) it so I can get my 2008 C50T (that requires valve adjustments)....the Nighthawk doesn't? Plus, I never had a V-Twin before and I'll look cool, instead of a 52+ year old man on the Nighthawk sitting in the Old-school position!!!

I'm hauling it over to his house this Saturday in my truck...it's a done deal.

I have since turned down two other people wanting to buy it....so, apparently the price is right.....
