| Hello Everyone. Sorry for this to be my first post here. I've been riding for years and I normally post on Two Wheeled Texans, Adventure Rider, and the V-Strom forums. I am selling this bike for my father who is in his late 50's. He is ill and is unable to sell it himself. Location: McKinney, Texas Bike: 2001 Kawasaki VN800-B6 Vulcan Classic Mileage: 4,319 Price: $4,200 OBO or Will Trade For Dual Sport Bike (Please see the third post below.) Clear Texas Title My Contact Information: gatortac@sbcglobal.net This bike is very clean and it is in excellent condition. Always kept in the garage. Never stored outside. Never wrecked. My Dad is the only owner of this bike. He bought it in September of 2001 from American Kawasaki in Garland, Texas. He didn't ride it very much though as evidenced by the current mileage. I rode the bike from his home in Garland to my house in McKinney yesterday and it was a great ride. (A lot different than my V-Strom though.) The only reason this motorcycle is for sale is because the owner is having serious health problems. Cons: 1) The clutch lever has a little play in it and needs to be adjusted/tightened. I'll see if I can do that myself tomorrow. 2) The front right turn signal bulb is burned out. Pros: It's a very low mileage bike, in superb condition, with lots of extra stuff on it. See excessively documented details below: ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are two short videos I shot of the bike: Video of Walk Around The Bike Video - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Video of Engine Start and Rev - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting You can see more pics of the bike here: http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...htsWorking.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...wFromSissy.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...n/SissyBar.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1.../RightRear.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ghtOblique.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ghwayStuff.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1.../LeftFront.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...rontLights.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...eRightSide.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...neLeftSide.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ndRadiator.jpg http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...ockpitView.jpg Here is specific information about the accessories that are included with this bike: Seat: Mustang Vintage Wide Touring Seat (Part # 75933) ($429 From Mustang) (See: Mustang Motorcycle Products, Inc. - Kawasaki Vulcan 800 1995-05 & 800 Classic 1996-05) Pipes: Jardine “Slash Cut” 2” Drag Pipes (Part # 17-3905-01) (MSRP: $384.95 to $403) (Jardine Website: JardineProducts.com) Also see the Cruiser Customizing Website for these same pipes: Jardine 2:2 2" Slashcut Drag Pipes - Vulcan 800/Classic (95-05) for Kawasaki Vulcan 800) Grips: Kuryakyn ISO Grips (MSRP: $69.99) (See: Product Page) Highway Pegs: Kuryakyn footpegs (MSRP: Somewhere b/t $80 and $100) (See: Product Page) Note: To see detailed information on the Kawasaki parts below, click here: Welcome to Kawasaki.com and choose the Vulcan 800 Classic link. | Opening this up for trades. (I'll take care of my Dad on my end if the bike is traded.) I am looking for:
I am especially interested in bikes that may have already been modified by the previous owner with skid plates, large gas tank, handguards, etc. If you have suggestions about other bikes that are similar to the models I have listed above, please let me know. I’m not looking for “pretty” or “stylish.” I’m looking for a functional, highly reliable bike that will take me over rough dirt roads and trails from here to the west coast of Oregon. See: Trans-America Trail It doesn’t matter what color the bike is or how ugly it is. Mechanical reliability and ruggedness are more important to me than anything else. Thank you for looking. Doug |
