| Seat Tester | Unfortunately, I have to part with my beloved GS500. It has been an incredible bike, and has tought me so much. I will forever be attatched to this bike, and I would keep it if I could. Sadly, it has to go. ![]() ![]() I bought the bike brand new off of the Suzuki showroom floor. It had 6 miles on the clock. It has been garage kept and completely babied its whole life. I have an unnatural obsession with Honda polish and Mothers carnuba wax. The bike currently has 3,000 miles on it, and all maintanence has been done right on time. I have been keeping an extremely nerdy Microsoft Excel file of the bikes mainenance records to date. The biggest modification that I have done to the bike was to remove the factory fairings. The bike has much more style without them, and they really didn't seem proportioned well. The bike has a black frame/wheels, dark grey engine and bright blue paint that is absolutely gorgeous. The colors all combine amazingly. You can see plenty of pictures of the bike in the following links. KSUDanimal - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Is naked sexier? The bike has a few other modificatioins: 1998 Katana 4.5" rear wheel and brake rotor (as seen in my tutorial here Katana Rear Wheel Swap how-to...) Metzeler Sportec M-1 tires (110/70 ZR17 front, 160/60 ZR17 rear) with 1,600 miles on them Trimmed rear fender, turn signals have been moved up just below the tail as seen here http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...al/fender2.jpg LED rear brake light as seen here Installing LED's in stock taillight Blue LED instrumentation lights (I also have the stock lights if blue isn't your style...) like seen here Dashboard is now All LED K&N "lunchbox" style filter (fits directly onto the carburators, replaces the air box) with 200 miles on it Carburator jets (22.5, 65, 137.5) that has the bike running AMAZING. It has eliminated ALL of the problems when the engine is cold. Installed 200 miles ago. With the bike, I'll give the new owner: Clymer service manual. A HUGE help! New rear wheel bearings. The ones on the bike are fine, but just in case! All documentation including owners manual, reciepts, love notes to the bike and a perfectly clean (duh) title. A 1GB folder burned onto CD of pictures of the bike (See! I'm obsessed!) The Excel file with all of the maintenance information for the bike since it was new I'm asking $3,400 because I'd like the GS500 to find a new home as soon as possible. I live in Manhattan, KS 66502. I am about 2 hours west of Kansas City. I'd preffer a local pick up, but I'd be willing to ride as much as 1 hour for free if someone will buy this bike. According to the NADA value (the most accurate source), the average selling price right now for this bike is $4,190. I'm selling it WELL under that. This is a really good deal, folks. PM me if interested in the bike. -Danimal |
