Default Clutch

I rode a C90T for the first time on Sunday, loved the ride except for the clutch. The lever had to be released nearly all the way before the clutch engaged which I really did not like but guess I would get used to but was wondering if this is normal for the C90's ?

Guess I never noticed. Did you adjust the lever to your liking? It can be adjusted you know. I have mine on notch #4

Mine releases the same. I think its the way all C90's are. You get used to it.

My friend did say he had it adjusted that way on purpose but yesterday I was reading a comparison test in Motorcycle Cruiser and all the testers complained about the C90 clutch. I'm sure I'd get used to it though.

I originally had mine at the default - 2 or 3 - and found that even with my long fingers, the clutch was at the end of their reach when it disengaged. Like Frostbitevinnie, I have it set now to notch #4 and find it much better - or maybe I'm just getting more used to it.

It is a hydraulic clutch and is what it is. Set the adjust low (like a 4). After a bit it will feel very natural. I got to like it. It takes very little pressure to shift.

It was funny the first time I went to pull away on the C90, I let the clucth out like normally would and nothing happened so I thought it wasn't in gear, by the time I realised what was going on my buddy was 1/4 mile down the road !

I test rode a C90T a couple weeks ago and the same thing happened to me. The guy coordinating the convoy was shouting at me, put it in gear although it was. But the clutch lever had to go all the way out. Anyways I sort of handled the C90. It went upto 50 kph in the first gear easily!

I realized that the clutch lever was adjustable after the test ride

The C90 is a very powerful bike (at least for me).

So Elvis ,
do you think you may go up to a C90 ? It seems like a good move to me from the C50 to C90, that is exactly what my riding buddy did at the end of last season and he is very happy with the move.

I'm gonna stay with the C50 for a while say 10K+ kilometers or so unless I hit the jackpot tomorrow

After adjusting my new rides clutch to position 4 I find it much better. Still a little long but better than before. I do like the smoothness of the clutch application.
