Default '99 Intruder 1500

Hi All, and greetings from northern Ohio the vast winter wonderland in April.

Advance apologies if I'm posting in the wrong forum: I'm new to this Suzuki thing and don't know just what to do yet.

I bought my wife a '99 Intruder 1500 about a week ago and she loves it. While riding it myself the other day I happened to notice that the front suspension seems very harsh when going over more than a slight bump. Also, when going over these bumps the fork seems to make a clicking noise when the wheel hits the bottom of the depression.

I've checked the steering head for looseness-play and there seems to be none. Have also verified that the front shocks are working as they should ( they seem to be but only appear to have about 2 1/2" of available travel ).

I'm wondering if these bikes may have something like the "anti-dive" front brake valve similar to that on a Gold Wing, whether 2 1/2" fork travel is sufficient, or whether anyone out there may have a suggestion.

In any case, I really appreciate the help that anyone may offer!
