| I was at the honda shop the other day looking for my first road bike. I have had my eye on the suzuki c-90 . when i asked the saleman how would you compare the vtx 1300 to the c-90 ,he said the suzuki is old school technology and the vtx can run circles around it. I replied with , do you conceder jetted carbs to be new school teck on the vtx. He siad vtx is still faster humm... i thought o well i really like the c-90 . Can anyone tell me if air verses liquid cooled. Is old school air cooled more reliable longer lasting or should i just settle for a honda and dose anyone know horsepower difference between the two. |

| Liquid cooled is better, Longer lasting, more power. Tolerances are tighter and tuning is easier from jug to jug... At least on a V-twin because each jug is the same temp. I can't answer your HP question. See if his 1300 VTX wants to try my M-95.

| Three questions you need to ask your salesman: 1. Since the C90 is fuel injected vs. carbureted on the VTX1300, how is the C90 old school technology? 2. Since when is the VTX a performance machine? That's what the CBR is for! 3. Does your salesman even know what the heck he's talking about? What a goober!

| Most salesman are idiots! They only know enough basic information to sell a bike to those that are not experienced riders. Do your own research. I had one that was convinced that the yamaha R1 and 6 were 470lbs. Do your own research, sit on the bikes, even test ride em. Google is your friend as well.

| Check the price tag on both bikes. Odds are the Honda cost more which equals more commission in the stealers pocket. As others said, Do your own research. Go for a ride on em. Just don't depend on the stealer for accurate info. |

The LC has alot of low end grunt,,if you romp down on it there is a slight hesitation to it then after it starts moving the powerband seems to kick in and it takes off rapidly. I have friends that have VTX1300's and 1800's and they walk away from me everytime,,but they don't get too far ahead. Of course I am not downshifting either. But it is a great bike,,just make sure you get one with the gas tank modification done already before it has a chance to crack.

| It doesn't matter which bike is faster or has more hp, it matters if the bike has enough power to satisfy you. Or, just go get a Boss Hoss.

Ask him how much a service is on the VTX compared to the C90 ! Valve adjustment and coolant changes spring to mind.

| I didn't buy my 90 to race it. I like the VTX but IMO the C90T is a superior machine. The 1800T is still almost $15K and the 1300T is almost $11K. I paid $9.6K new for mine on sale. I am ahead, if not in distance then in $$. What's this about the gas tank cracking and mod. Have not heard that one yet.
