Default Suzuki M50 to Bandit 1250?

Ok, I'm 'cross posting' here I guess. Usually I post new ones in the M50 Hideaway forum but since I'm seriously considering a 2009 or maybe a 2010 Bandit 1250 I thought I'd be 'admitted' here as a guest of sorts ;p)O

I've had the Suzuki M50 for two years, it's a sweet middle weight cruiser but I want to take it up a notch in power and handling and I'm getting a little tired of the cruiser recliner position. Maybe Im' a bit bored with the M50 after two years and 12,000 miles. The Bandit looks awesome on paper and I've sat on one a bunch of times. Test riding one has been difficult.

I guess I'm looking for some convincing that this would be a good step up for me. I don't ride to make a statement or be seen (well maybe a little but mostly it's the pure riding experience that I'm after.

I love the V-twin torque off the line, the rumble's good - but actually I like that it's a quiet ride. I'm probably one of the few who hasn't 'upgraded' to louder pipes. I've read that the bandit is almost annoyingly quiet for some riders. Well... running on, aren't I Is this bike a good step up for someone like me? Thanks for any insights.
