and I knew it was when I did it... So let me start from the beginning; I have ridden bikes since 1984 (14y/o). All have been Standards or Cruisers from the 80's (ala Magnas). Well I bought an M50 little more than a year ago. One of the first things I noticed was how it scraped at every corner. Not only it is unnerving, but you are force to drop your speed or risk low siding the bike. Now, the mistake...and he just *wouldn't* leave me alone...my buddy insisted I ride his ZZR 600 (2006). Yeah, so, that whole cruiser thing is like so yesterday. While I am not super crazy about the seating position, I am real crazy about the ride. So I am in here asking about the Bandit vs the Gixxer-esque bikes out there. I know the Crotch rockets have the trail/rake to turn like they are on rails, which I gotta say, I dig, but I dont want to want my rides to be bitter sweet because I am half crippled after a day in the saddle. So I have been looking at the Bandit and the VStrom. I like qualities of both. But wanted to see if you all can give me feedback on the handling/performace characteristics of the Bandit, in comparison to these ilk of bikes. BTW, the little ZZR had a sweet little motor that wanted to rev to the stars, just not a torquey one (of course)...however, it was able to reach triple digits with little effort....so is 1250cc's just *sick* power? |
