Default New member (not so new rider) introduction

Hello all. I'm new here and thought I would introduce myself. I live in NYC but also spend a lot of time in California. I ride an 05 Bandit 1200S and a Triumph Sprint ST (07). I ride a lot - I'd calculate just over 50,000 miles in the past five years, including commuting. Being almost forty and having bad wrists (double carpal tunnel surgery a few years back), I don't have much interest in super-sports. I like big standards and STs, as you can tell from my stable, and I wouldn't object to the right cruiser. That means no Harleys.

My Bandit (aka B-San) has 37K miles now. I bought it new when I lived in St. Louis. It's been a wonderful motorcycle and I have a pretty strong emotional attachment to it. It's been with me on several ultra-long-haul rides: coast to coast four times, and from the edge of Canada to inside Mexico. I upgraded it about a year ago with Dale Walker's Stage II re-jet and exhaust kit. Fuel economy and high-elevation performance went down a bit, but it picked up quite a bit more power and an incredible sound at high rpm.

Looking forward to talking about bikes in general and Bandits in particular.

What do I inspect: oh, you know, motorcycles, girls, scenery, mid-term exams. The user-name is an inside joke about 1970s Indian movies, where the lead character was typically a brooding policeman named Vijay. I teach college, so it's an alter-ego thing.

Great to have you! I heard the big-shot here rides a Bandit, too.
