| New forum member. Got a used 07 Bandit 1250. I am looking for a little more wind protection. I am 6' Found the windblast right in my chest w/ standard windshield. Any recommendations. So far so good with the Bandit. Torque is amazing. Hard to tell which gear is needed, just gas it, downshift?, who needs it. I may also look at changing the muffler. Undecided on this, the large stock one is almost too quite and rather big and bulky. Any comments would be appreciated. This seems to be a knowledgable active forum. Thanks! |

| Welcome, Kenneth. What bikes have you owned before? I installed a taller windscreen and found little benefit but much more noise in the helmet. You might be better off with the stock height. It will never be like a Harley with a over-the-head windscreen. Holeshot Performance is always a good bet for upgrade parts.

| Hi Rowdy, I started back riding again in 2002. Took the MSF course and bought neighbors 2000 HD FatBoy. Rode it till new 06 HD Ultra Classic. Love it & not looking for new tourer. Took it to N.C. this summer and rode the Dragon. The trip made me want a little something funner in the turns. Studied on different standards and the Bandit was my pick. Picked it up Saturday, used 07 w/ 600 miles. Got a good deal. Will use it for commuting and around town fun rides. Got to get the plates squared away before more riding. Studying the laminar lip and double bubble. I have also seen the regular touring shield. Had windshields on both bikes before and i realize a standard is not a touring bike. Just wanting to get the gust off my rather wide torso. So far, the Bandit has been all I read about it. Smooth and lots of torque. I think I am goin to like this bike. |
