Check out Rider magazines September issue page 86. It has a short write up on all these accessories. Nice bike! I know there are different variables, but what is the ballpark figures for annual insurance on the 1250s abs?
I'm paying $212/year for 100/300, collision, and a $500 deductible through Allstate. Age 43, clean license, great credit score.

I've now had the bike for one year. More pleased than ever. It still brings a giant grin to my face every time I ride it!

Havn't done the first oil change yet, but looks straight forward. As far as wind protection, its good but can't compare to the naked as I havn't been on one yet.

Hey I know I'm a little late on this post, but I too have an 07 Bandit. The funny thing is I have not seen another one like mine. It is a silver metal flake. Anyone else have one like this? Oh and by the by, you are definately right about the right foot being a little too warm. I was at a red light in the middle of the summer in Houston and I thought my ankle and shin was going to turn into BBQ. Anyone have any clues as how to stop this? I'm guessing the fact that the 4 into one exhaust is the cause. Maybe an exhaust wrap might work, I don't know. Semper Fi.

I must have missed the reference to heat on the right foot...there's a little there but compared to some other bikes I've ridden like the C14, the Bandit does a very good job of directing heat away from the rider.

If your right foot is getting warm, it's probably from the catalytic converter. Mine will be coming off soon - Holeshot Performance is getting ready to release a new header. It will connect right back to the mid pipe and the cat will come out. Depending on what state you are in and of your state does emission testing, this may be an option for you.

No I only reiterated what you said about the warm right foot, however having said that, in the summer at a red light, I thought my skin will peel if we don't get moving. When its really hot outside and my right leg gets too warm while riding, I just put the right knee out a little than all is good. Actually, when it starts getting cold here, (40-65 degs) it will be a welcome heat.

Mine is same colour Silver Flake, no heat issues but then again I have full fairings on mine maybe it does a better job of managing heat.

They came with the bike, from what i hear the factory fairing option is only available in Canada, they call it the Bandit SEA (fairings), the naked version is the Bandit S (no fairings). From what I hear the SEA also has different engine managment and suspension has been tweaked for a sportier feel. I drove the Bandit S and didn't feel a difference but I love the look of the fairings so i got it.

Canadian website you'll notice the SEA model with Farings, ABS and Hard bags.

Thanks Booya,
I was told by Suzuki that the 08s will come w/lower fairings. I've been back to the dealership a few times since and their Bandits are always gone. They're still mostly showcasing the 07s, I'm talking about all their units. Also the link for the fairings only offer blk, red, blue. Mine is silver-ish.

So I've recently added a few mods to the Bandit and it's been quite a transformation. I'm more in awe than ever at what this bike is able to do, and the constant smile it brings to my face even after nearly 10,000 miles logged on her.

In the past two weeks, I've been in the garage adding:

1. Stebel Nautilus horn with relay (loud isn't the word!)

2. Holeshot 4-2-1 Performance Header (no more catalytic converter, 12 pounds lighter, and 20 more HP!)

3. Healtech Digital Gear Indicator with Adjustable TRE (this bike has so much torque that I can't tell you how many times I've tooled down the highway for 20-30 miles before I realized I was in 5th great and still had one more gear to go!)

4. CRG Clutch and Brake Lever, Superbike Pro Gel Grips and Grifin iPod Remote: (I've always added CRG levers to my bikes, they are fantastic (great quality, perfect angle and better leverage for easier shifts and lots of choice for adjustment. The remote is nice for being able to change songs, volume, and playlist on my iPod while it sits in my tank bang - much safer than trying to manipulate the iPod while riding!)

5. Front Fender Extender (got to keep that new header nice and shiny and this also helps keep stuff from being thrown at the radiator!)

I took the Bandit out yesterday to the back roads for a through flogging. It was the first time I really stretched the bike with the full Holeshot header, slip-on and stage 2 tune. The performance of the bike is stunning. The engine is willing right up to the kind of velocities that warp your vision and the wind tries to rip you off the bike. What’s even more amazing than the all out howl of the new engine is that the polished, friendly Bandit character is still there for most of the RPM range. There’s still plenty of torque to the power curve and the engine pulls from the second you let the clutch out right past redline.

I am constantly asked why I spend so much time and money on the Bandit, “why not just get a sport bike if you need more horse power?” Days on the bike like today give me the answer: I’m 44 now and I live a responsible life filled with adult responsibilities and adult commitments. Most days I ride like a safety course instructor. But some days I ride like a hooligan - popping wheelies and smoking the rear tire. Then sometimes I look down and there is 154 indicated on the speedometer and I feel that wolf howling inside my head.

There are many bikes that can do some of these things well but not many that do them all this well. Bottom line is that with the Holeshot modifications, I can’t think of another bike that fits my personalities quite like the Bandit.

Man...those mods are dope. I definately want the digital gear read out and the remote ipod. I always have to set up my favs list then stuff it into my pocket, then I'm stuck till I stop somewhere. I'm also looking at getting rid of the cat, too hot and has to go. I'm 6'1", 290 lbs, and the bike still flies, so I really don't need more horse. I can beat gt stangs from a red light (not that I race) but I find myself hauling ass everywhere I go. However after 120mph I feel like I'm being lifted off the bike, and I do get alittle head wobble.....usually after we're done for the day, I'll get a sore neck from trying to hold still.

Today was a sad day for me. I sold my Bandit - we're saving to build a house at our property instead of borrowing money to do it. Sacrifices had to be made. I hope to buy one later in my life when our other priorities have been taken care of.

Man that is admirable of you, but you should've sold the 550 and gotten a second job. Depending on how much you need to save you wouldn't have to do it too long. There are two things I wont ever do again. Sell my bike off or my guns. Good Luck bro.
