Default Newby looking at a 05 Bandit 1200s

Well I am a newby here. In the past I owned a Suzuki GSX 1100G put 4-5k miles on her.

I am stocky 5'7" but only have a 28" inseem about 275lbs.

This 2005 Bandit I saw seems to fit the bill well. It feels right, could lower the seat an inch.

But this chit chat will not get me any where. So to the point. I would like some imput as to help me with this.

First its a 2005 Suzuki GSF 1200s Bandit, with 5,000 miles missing left front turn signel, the rest of the body is perfect. It needs two new tires. It is at a pawn shop for $4500. A local dealer said they range from $4500- $6200.

Tires would run $335 at a dealer I think I can do better but this it a ballpark.

There is where is gets good-----> So I go there on my day off and ask to take it for a ride they said sure. So I try to start it start spins and nothing. The one guy we will call him Bob. Bob said this was weird, b/c he rode it all week and it runs perfect. Bob said it just got back from the shop, The only two shops are a Honda dealer, and a semi custum chopper place. Bob said they just rejeted it and put new plugs in.

So the next morning I get a call from Bob he said they did NOT put in plugs. So they the plugs and now it is running. WTF

I do not know a whole lot about bikes. But in outboard carbed engines you do not need to rejet and engine unless you have a reason, power-adder?

Any way tomorrow I will set out to the two bike shops and see that they say, as they do not benifit if I get this bike or not.

I know the 01 was a bad piston year. Is there anything I should know or look at?

Thanks
