A few Questions about gauge lights, exhaust and back end
Ok first of all I have a completely stock 1993 GSX-R 600 with about 27,500 miles on it and I bought it almost 2 years ago with 8,500 miles on it. This bike is my daily rider to work all year round as I have never owned a car or had drivers license. The bike has performed very well for me with the exception of having a rusted gas tank and a bad O-ring in carburetor which has since been fixed a while ago.
First question, a while ago I noticed that the lights on the tach and temp gauges weren’t working, my first thought was “oh it’s just a fuse” I checked every fuse but they all looked ok. After I checked the fuses I didn’t have anymore ideas so that’s why I’m here. What could cause the lights to go out? Is this maybe an electrical problem?
Second question, I was thinking about getting an aftermarket exhaust for the 600 but noticed that a lot the major aftermarket exhaust manufacturers don’t carry a model that will fit my make, model and year of bike. Does anybody know of a company that still makes an exhaust that will fit my bike? And also, will I need to do anything else to the bike if I get an aftermarket exhaust, i.e. jetting etc.
Third question, recently I have noticed that the back end of my bike feels really loose and sometimes when I leave for work in the morning if feels so bad sometimes that I think I have a flat tire. Sometimes when I’m going around a slight corner I can feel the back end slipping a little when it really shouldn’t be. I also noticed that the back of the bike feels a little lower that it should and was wondering if maybe the back shock was bad. I’ve never had a shock go bad so I don’t know what it would feel like.
