Just picked up a 2002 DRZ400S with 585 miles on it. It seems to be really doggy at the low end. I swear some times it feels like it is running out of gas or it is out of timing. Once you crank the R's it gets up and goes. I also notice a lot of, what sounds like, ticking valve noise, that normal?

Do these bikes need to go in for an adjustment (carb, valves) at 600 miles?

Shoot my sons CRF50F runs better at low RPM. It is just not as snappy as I would expect and just doen't sound right at low RPM.

This bike is completely stock.
