This is a terrific forum! What a find!
I was devastated when my Roadstar drowned in hurricane Isabel but the insurance company did help me cope with a fat check. Actually I was trying to sell it cuz I couldn't figure how to attach it to a 5th wheel to get it to Alaska and I was getting real tired of the vibration.

I called a friend of mine who had bought a new 1400 shortly after I got my R* but had left it languishing in his garage. After 2 yrs he had only put 2800 on the bike. He let me have it just by paying off his 2yr old loan. What a steal and what a terrific bike! I took it to the shop for a full service (3000 mi or 2 year checkup). It passed all checks perfectly including being kind to my butt for the 1 1/2 hour ride to the shop.
That's how I got the Intruder; this is who I am. I'm a retired Coast Guard officer who has been riding for 35 years give or take. Started on dirt bikes, Yamaha, Honda, Bultaco then on to street, Yamaha mostly Viragos including an 1100 then the Roadstar. I do some photography and PC consulting. I'll load a pic of the Intruder when I get all the new goodies on it. I'm in coastal NC right now and planning on heading back to South Central Alaska as soon as I sell this house.
What am I doing, writing a book? I am glad I found this forum and found the posts I've read friendly, informative and sometimes funny. I look forward to taking part in the discussions.
