When I was shopping this bike, I thought the same thing; that the horsepower numbers sounded about twice as high as it should be but I found numerous difference sources giving this same figure. I even found one site that had dyno'ed the M50 and it showed a rear wheel hp in the 90's. I figured it was just an inflated Suzuki number until I saw that.
11,000rpm sounds like a lot for this motor but Harley Sportsters have a rev limiter that cuts in at 9,500rpm's but, from what I read on the internet, many people are installing aftermarket rev limiters to get them to almost 11,000. The way I figured it was if a Harley can sling around those big slugs at 11,000rpm's then this 800cc shouldn't have a problem. It sure doesn't feel like it would rev that high, but I'm still baby'ing mine during the break-in period so I can't really tell.
