Default VS800

The intruder is a nice bike. I have a VS800 Intruder with 4200 miles on it, and the good points are hydrolic breaks and clutch, water cooling keeps engine from the hard were of air cooled V twins. It has a shaft drive which is a bit smoother than chain and more reliable than belts.
The points to be aware of are, front break squeals, don't know why but evey one I have met with this bike have the same problem. The squeal lessenes if you hit the breaks hard then emebiatly lighten up. The tank is 3.2 gal. So you will have to stop for gas about every 100 to 125 miles. That is when you hit reserve. Some people get forward controls to shift leg possitions, I went with cruser pegs. They were cheaper and even with my feet on cruser pegs the back of my foot keeps break covered, and I can also down shift with out taking my foot off cruser pegs.
Changing air filters involves removing tank, but you gain a more streamline look, and don't have air cleaner next to your leg, or any place rain could get pulled in.
As far as the price goes, the book price on my 2002 new was $6300. I keep hearing Suzuki is going to discontinue this bike soon, so you would be on the band wagon for collectors pricing if you hold on to it.
I would say go for it. Unless it is a 1996 or earlier model price should be a good.
