The flat spot on a rear tire dramatically affects cornering. Remember, it's the rear tire that turns the bike once a lean is initiated, not the front. It'll feel like a brand new bike, even if you're lucky enough to have a fairly mild flattening. Also, rubber hardens as it ages, making ride quality on new tires feel softer and more compliant.

In other words, you betcha.
