I have the 600S (2002 model year). My Bandit has been a great bike so far (20,000 miles). The only negative thing I really hear folks say about the Bandits is that the front (and rear?) suspension(s) need a little bit of upgrading. I'm only 5'6", and about 160 pounds (give or take), and this is my first bike, so I haven't noticed anything wrong with the suspension and I have nothing to compare it to really.
All I can say is I love mine. Are you looking at a 250, 400, 600, 650, 1200?
