I'm told the 05 is similar to the 04. I have an 04. You're going to love that bike. Top end speed. Most all that I know..that are still alive..top speed we're never found. I had mine up to 168..once..and..no more I think. Interesting you mentioned about a power commander. Here's what I did and is my humble opinion. I was waiting on my k&n air filter since august of last year. I finally got it. Along with my Yoshimura pipe I took my Gixxer back to the dealership and they remapped the engine for me. It only cost $30.00. I've been told the power commander is very nice yet in my town the humidity and barometric pressure remains pretty constant so the difference between remapping and getting a power commander would be nothing.

For me I'm very satisfied. Power difference between your R6 02 and your 05 Gixxer 750. You just wait...you will be very surprised. I had compared the 04 R6 to my 04 Gixxer 750. The answer is hands down H-Yes! You're going to have fun.

One last thing. It'll be as safe or really as dangerous as you allow it. My humble opinion is that it will surprise you enough with the power band above 6K. Good luck and ride safe.
