As for how to break properly in an engine ... ask two people, and you'll have 4 different opinions. Your owner's manual says to take it nice and easy, don't go near the redline. Then there is the Internet community who says that you should make sure the engine is warm, then ride it hard - redline, idle, cruise, redline, etc. I don't know which is correct (I bought my 1400 with 1000 miles on the clock), but I tend to think that using the whole range (from idle to redline) makes more sense. If the engine is going to fail due to a manufacturing error, it doesn't matter if you ride it easy or hard - it's going to fail anyway. |
well..i default to riding things hard..lol but sometimes it's nice to go slow...and easy..lol!
