Looking forward to seeing this design. Hopefully it can be made to be less "visually heavy" than the OEM mounts. The option of using only the luggage rack attached to the mount would be cool too. See 5-18 post by rbarrea: http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/fo...tml#post450019. I think this would look better with the pillion on, so there is not a sudden vertical jump from the funder up to the rack.

I've been spending a lot of time looking at the M and thinking about what will work best for me on the back. Love the looks of the back, but I use my bike for the practicality of commuting as well. I ride solo and don't favor saddle bags...I prefer the more convenient position of a bag on the rear seat/fender. The "hooker type" universal mount system that came with my Kury Grantour Bag mounts under the pillion seat and makes connecting any bag with lower d-rings a snap. For longer trips I might some Kury throwovers since I've read on here they do find without supports...keeps the clean look when the bags are off. I guess I could even throw them over a solo rack and set the Grantour on top of that. Hopefully still would need supports if the rack was almost as high as the pillion, not sure.

I really love the look of the M with a solo seat, fender bib and solo rack - which from what I've seen and read, no one actually makes for the M...they all have to be tweaked. So, maybe a solo rack actually made for the M would be cool...and maybe one that extends further back on the fender. No Photoshop to play with it.

Just thinkin'...
