 03 600RR leaking around water pump
A buddy of mine asked me to take a look at her '03 CBR600 RR (50k mi)because it is marking it's territory each night. It seems to be seeping from around the water pump on the left side below the tranny output shaft. I'm assumeing this is a gear driven pump with a simple o-ring worn out.
The furthest forward bolt holding the water pump houseing together also seems loose and striped. I figgure if the housing is thick enough I can retap it to a larger bolt.
My question is; is this oil leak commen and is there anything else I should be looking for or taking care of on a bike so well ridden? Any headaches I should know about before hand or special bleed procedures to refill the coolant. NMc
