Have had a full face for 2 years. Something in me just doesn't trust the modular to stay together in a crash. Any comments or assurances about that?

Also - how often should a non-crashed helmet be replaced? Seems like I heard 5 years due to internal components braking down over time. Is this legit or is it a ploy to keep us spending money?

Of course, I guess after 5 years there's probably better helmet technology on the market anyway.
