In America we call that "rubbing their faces in it".
Yes, we have no Autobahn. I suppose we could all move to Montana, but that's sort of out of the question.
Here's how I deal with it: I've been around me long enough to know how easy it is to get lost in the excitement of a powerful bike - so - I don't own powerful bikes.
1.) I get to walk without crutches.
2.) I get to keep my license.
3.) I get to breathe without the aid of life support.
All of that usually means I get to ride tomorrow. You could say it's a boring life, but whenever I'm riding, I'm NOT bored.
All that being said, I'd LOVE to have a 'busa, if just for a week.
