yes, and as a motorcycle site, we suggest you brush up on high speed counter steering on a bicycle first... people do it, they just don't realize it
also, speaking of helmets... it depends how much you're going to ride... you don't need a $1000 helmet if you aren't doing much riding... if it's a bit noisy, just use ear plugs.
btw, the scorpion exo-1000 is so low in noise it's not funny. i love it.
