I went on a ride last Friday with a friend around Lake Maurepas (up 55 then around the lake on 22). Great day. Stopped for lunch just outside of Ponchatoula at a German Restaurant called Taste of Bavaria. Wow. Then more riding. Found a cool bar/restaurant on The Tickfaw River in Killian called Tin Lizzy's (used to be the Black Pelican). Damn what a cool looking place. It was closed so we didn't get to go in, but it's totally my kind of place. The 22 is a really good ride with lots of winding turns, and following right along side of the bayou. Just what you would think Louisiana looks like.
I get home and my BrakeAway Cruise Control had been delivered. So I quickly install it and get back on the bike. I'M IN LOVE! What a piece of art this thing is.
A few suggestions on installing.
1 - don't bother turning off the gas (couldn't find it anyway, but not necessary)
2 - go ahead and overtighten the 4 pins holding the O-ring another whole turn... mine was too loose and wouldn't keep speed with just enough tightening to go "under flush" (as the manual suggested you do).
3 - the directions may not seem to make sense at first, but unstaple the diagram of the parts, and keep them near for reference..... this really helped.
NOW! I'm ready for a long ride.
