91 RM 125 breaking up at high rpm
Hi guys,... I got a 91 RM 125 that starts first kick. It has 175 on compression.
I go to give it some throttle and from mid to high it breaks up real bad and smokes like crazy. I changed the main jet in it today from a 320 to alot smaller 230 (the only one i could find today) and it did not make a bit of difference. I started at 1 and 1/2 turns out on the air idle screw and it stated right up. seemed to be a very high idle at first so I turned it down a little. (but this was the same with the 320 in there)There is no gas comming out the overflow tube. This carb has been taken apart and cleaned out....every thing looks good. The needle and seat were clean ,...nothing looks worn. I just dont get it.
There is oily spooge that drips out the exaust after every time i start it.
I DO need an o ring doughnut gasket where the exaust pipe fits on the head... there was none there hwen I bought it. Also, I am missing the rubber that goes in between the tailpipe and the silencer too-- oil is comming out there too. I just got the bike from someone else who didn't want to work on it....but I am willing and trying with the Clymer book I bought....but I'm kinda stumped with this one.
If I run it for about 5 minutes then check the (brand new ngk br9egv) spark plug....it only has a little oil residue on the top of the electrode arm....(not like the whole plug is soaked)the rest of the plug is still looking new. Anyone got any suggestions?? I got a gas mixture made up of 30to1 yamalube ...fresh gas. is my octane too low?? 93
It seams every time I rev the motor the exaust rubber tube spits oil speckles on the floor. Please.....any help is apreciated. Thanks in advance.
