Greetings! I just found this forum and been reading some great stuff. I just bought my first bike a 2008 Honda Shadow Aero 750. It's got freeway bars and saddlebags. Right now the only accessory I want/need is a windshield.

I've surfed quite a few sites and have lots of info but its a bit overwhelming. The most popular brand seems to be the Memphis Fat. My questions are:

1- Is the MF really that much better than the less expensive brands I've seen?

2- How high does the shield need to be? I've read a bit about "helmet buffeting" and I think that if I'm gonna add a windshield it should well - shield me. But there seems to be two schools of thought. One is to be looking through the windshield and the other is to be looking over it....

Once I'm comfortable on the bike and after taking the MSF course next weekend I'm gonna use it to commute to work - 25 miles each way.

The bike is low as you know and I'm short 5' 6". Virtually everyone I know that rides recommends a windshield for a variety of reasons from comfort to safety.
