If they went from VERY LOUD to very soft when the "baffles" were put in, it's not likely that they are like the picture because those are really more of a resonator than a real baffle.
If you hold up a bare baffle and try to look through it long-ways, can you see through it, just like an empty pipe? If not, there is a "real" baffle plate in there that you might be able to drill out for the desired effect.
If you can see through it, I'm at a loss as to how the sound could have changed that much. Maybe I'm missing something. |
