[intruder1400]

I have a 1996 Intruder 1400, I am having some trouble with the clutch , if I pull in the clutch lever it will start put I can feel the bike pulling forward some . If I pull the lever several times then start the bike it acts normal , any ideas or suggestions to this problem would be greatly appreciated . I am completly ignorant to how this works so I would like to have any and all info available to me before I have to take it into the repair shop. Thanks
