I drilled 6 3/4" holes in both pipes and immediately smelled more gas standing around the bike at idle. The bike sounds great now, but gets worse gas mileage definitely. Went from ~48-50mpg to like ~45mpg. I know that isn't much, but one of the reasons I like to take the bike most times is also b/c of the high gas prices. Also a reason to get the misses on the back to ride with instead of taking a car.
Any suggestions on how to fix it? Way to adjust the gas flow to make it better?
Would it get better if I went ahead and debaffled? Or make it worse? |
I wonder if you are gettin on it a bit more now that you have better sound....Revving up a bit at the stops....winding out a bit more on take off....
3mpg could easily be that.
Same thing happened when I got flowmasters for my truck....
