Smile Hello from Ohio

Heya Guys and Gals,

I'm brand new to biking. Never ridden. I've been doing lots of reading (and lurking) through various forums and biking magazines lately. I've liked a lot of the information that I've read here. You all seem to be a very knowledgeable crowd and provide great advice and support to beginners.

Anyhow, I've been thinking, a lot, about getting a bike lately. I have a good deal of time, though, as I probably won't be making a purchase until spring of next year rolls around (I just don't have the cash currently). I fully intend to take the Beginner MSF course around here as well as acquire a SNELL certified helmet before getting my bike.

So, I'm wondering which bike to go with. I'm young, will be 21 by the time I purchase a bike, and would like to ride something sporty. I've read a lot of statements (including one in TWO Magazine) stating that the Kawasaki Ninja 250R is a great bike to start on. I just want to get some of your opinions as well. Also, I'm not sure I'm completely sold on the whole fairing idea. For instance, I think that bikes like the Buell Streetfighter and Triumph Street Triple look way cooler than the Kawasaki Ninjas and Suzuki Hayabusas. Any ideas there?

Thanks for your thoughts - dizzy
