As for tires, I can recommend Kenda Kruz K673 tires. I've had them on for about 1,000 miles now and feel they are better than the original IRCs. I'm running them at stock pressure 29/36 PSI front/rear. They might be just a tad stiffer riding than the stock tires, but they're very sure footed during braking and cornering although I'm not a fast rider.
Got them from American Motorcycle Tire <www.americanmototire.com> for about $117 a pair delivered to MN. I bought two sets since I've got lots of miles planned this summer and at least a couple of riders on the Intruder Alert site report 13-14K miles on them.
